The institute of computer application (ICA) of the College of Engineering offers the BS in Information Technology (BSIT) program since June of 2005. This SY 2016-2017 is the twelfth(12th) year offering of the BSIT program. ICA is manned with seventeen (17) qualified and competent faculty members. Three hundred eighty-five (385) students coming from different places of Mindanao but mostly from the province of Bukidnon are enrolled in the BSIT program during the 1st semester SY 2016 - 2017.
ICA is headed by a Director whose main function is similar to a department chairman and its directly under the Office of the Dean of the College of Engineering. In School year 2016 - 2017, the ICA Director is Ms. Jingky G. Marcelo and the Dean of the College of Engineering is Dr. Constancio M. Verula Jr. The ICA classrooms, offices, computer-laboratories are located at the College of Engineering which is approximately three hundred (300) meters from the university main gate going to the right direction. CMU is approximately one hundred twenty kilometers from Davao City of Mindanao Philippines.
The BSIT program curriculum that was first offered in June of 2005 was based on the standards of the Information Technology Education (ITE) as promulgated by the Commission of Higher Education Memorandum Order No. 25(CMO 25) series of 2001. In SY 2013 - 2014, the revised curriculum has been implemented based of Commission on Higher Education Memorandum Order No. 53 (CMO 53) series of 2006.
